Betty P. Pash

Betty P. Pash, 98, of Loves Park went to be with her Lord Tuesday, September 13, 2022. Born May 25, 1924, in Stockton, IL, the daughter of Vernon and Bessie (Doubler) Steffens. Graduated from Winslow High School, Class of 1942. Married Hubert Pash, Jr., on June 22, 1946, in Freeport, IL. Betty and her husband opened the first group home for teenagers in 1970 with the Department of Corrections having eight teenagers at one time. She volunteered for a time at River Bluff Nursing Home. Betty enjoyed living at Park Towers where she led bible study and exercise class. She also enjoyed playing dominos with the other residents of Park Towers. In her spare time, she also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and puzzles. Survivors include her son, Steven (Debroah) Pash of Loves Park; foster son, Steve (Carol) Parrish of Machesney Park; grandchildren, David (Patrice) Pash of Texarkana, TX, and Kimberly (Robert) Gorney of Rockford; great-grandchildren, Ethan Pash, Brennan Pash, and Sophie Gorney; nieces, Diana (Frank) Lopez, Sandra (Robert) Shultz, and Carmela Steffens; and nephew, Stanley Steffens. Predeceased by her parents and husband.

Service at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, IL. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
