Elmer R. Plymale
Elmer R. Plymale, 93, of Rockford, IL, passed away Friday, November 4, 2022. Born March 18, 1929, in Grand Island, NE, the son of Lester and Linda (Weigert) Plymale. Veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1948 to 1952. Married Jennie Mistretta on May 18, 1957, in Rockford, for 49 years until her passing in 2007. Elmer began working with his father, Lester, as a plumber. He eventually took over the family plumbing business, Plymale Plumbing, until he retired. Elmer was an avid golfer and bowler for many years. Survivors include his sister, Sharon (Jim) Rever; brothers, Dwain (Jenny) Plymale and Jim (Jan) Plymale; sister-in-law, Pat Plymale; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; wife; brother, Gordon Plymale; sister, Deloris Ramsey; two infant sisters; and brother-in-law, Bernard Ramsey
Service at 11 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2022, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
