Faith Emma Maria Genrich

Faith Emma Maria (Ratcliffe) Genrich, 102, of Rockford, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born August 29, 1920, in Daysville, IL, the daughter of Ernest and Ellen (Johnson) Ratcliffe. Faith graduated from High School at the age of 16. Married Walter C. Genrich on October 5, 1940, in Oregon, IL. Formerly employed by Genrich Auto Sales and manager of the gift shop at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Member of Third Presbyterian Church. Active member of the Moose Club in Rockford. Faith was a survivor of the Athenia, the first ship that sunk in World War II. She spent a night in a lifeboat before being rescued. Faith loved playing cards, especially poker, dancing, reading books, bowling, and wintering in Florida. She loved her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and will be remembered as a very generous person. Survivors include her sons, Robert “Bob” (Heather) Genrich, and Jerry (Cindy) Genrich; grandchildren, Brad (Kimberly) Genrich, Amy (Jason) Cohan, Jeff (Liz) Genrich, Greg Genrich, Brian (Desirae) Genrich, and Stephanie (Adam) Leiner; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband; great-granddaughter, Emma Cohan; brother, John; and sister, Florence.

Service at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Third Presbyterian Church.
