Frances Dorothy Steffan
Frances Dorothy Steffan, 98, of Loves Park, IL, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2023. Born June 21, 1924, in Gordon, WI, the daughter of Mathew and Meri (Varga) Balcsik. In her early years, she grew up on the family dairy farm and attended schools in Gordon, WI. Frances was a lifelong member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, where she attended Mass daily. Her faith was very important to her, and she enjoyed cleaning and cooking for all the parish priests over the years and hosting them in her home for the holidays. She also loved to garden and cook. Survivors include her sons, Michael Steffan of Loves Park, and Raymond (Theresa Gaziano-Steffan) Steffan of Cherry Valley; daughter, Pamela Steffan of Spooner, WI; grandson, Paul J. Steffan of Houston, TX; sister, Elizabeth Reinertson of Hermantown, MN; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Paul; sisters, Marie, Anna, Barbara, Rose, and Margaret; and brothers, Michael, Steven, Andrew, and George.
Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2023, at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 600 Clifford Ave., Loves Park, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Entombment in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
