Frank Taylor

Frank Taylor, 91, of Monroe Center, IL, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2022, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 13, 1931, in Fork Ridge, TN, the son of John and Myrtle (Sowders) Taylor. Veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. Married Joyce H. Bass on May 28, 1952, in Middlesboro, KY. Formerly employed by the DeKalb Wurlitzer Co., where he was Union President for many years until its closing in 1973. He then worked as a union carpenter, retiring from Local 1889. He co-owned Taylor’s Café in Maple Park, IL, with his wife. Longtime member of North Love Baptist Church. He accepted Christ as his personal savior in his later years, giving him the promise of eternal life. Frank loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener. Survivors include his daughters, Judy (Jim) Anderson and Tammy (Mike) Kodner; grandchildren, Sara (Jim) Becker, John (Kate) Anderson and Katie (Kade) McCoy; great-grandchildren, Reese, Liv, Kinley, Monroe, Crew, Delaney, and Luke. Predeceased by his parents; wife; brother, John Taylor; sisters, Ethel Cottrell and Opal Byrd. Special thanks to Heartland Hospice.

Service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2022, in North Love Baptist Church, 5301 E. Riverside Blvd., Rockford, IL, with visitation from noon to service time. Burial in Genoa Township Cemetery. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park, IL.
