Joyce L. Bailey

Joyce L. Bailey, 88, of Kirkland went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 26, 2022. Born August 9, 1933, in DeKalb, the daughter of Glenn and Mildred (Padgett) Holdridge. Graduated from DeKalb High School. Married Ivan E. Bailey on January 15, 1956, in DeKalb. Employed by Ideal Industries, retiring in 1991. Member of Central Christian Church where she sang in the choir and led a ladies Bible study. She was also, member of Willowdale Grange and Roseland Cemetery Association. Joyce enjoyed cross stitching, making jelly and pies. She loved spending time with family, especially with her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Thomas (Kaye) Bailey, Melissa (Dave) Beerbower, Mary Bailey and Sarah (Gary) Spires; grandchildren, Luke Bailey, Beth Bailey, Nathaniel Bailey, Kelly (Barry) Von Deylen, Ryan (Stacie) Beerbower, Katie (Timothy) Sparks, Mikayla (fiancé, Matt Greene) Spires, Aidyn Spires, Abram Spires and Danielle Spires; great-grandchildren, Parker, Peyton, Sawyer, and Bennett Von Deylen, Elliot, August, and Lola Beerbower; sister, Marcia Osterhaut; sister-in-law, Carol Holdridge; many nieces and nephews; foreign exchange children, Marjolijn, and Min (Rosemary). Predeceased by her parents; husband; and brother, Warren “Russ” Holdridge. The family wishes to thank OSF Hospice, especially Angie, Chris, and Alina for their compassionate care.

Service at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 1, 2022, in Central Christian Church, 6595 Guilford Road, Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Burial in Roseland Cemetery, Monroe Center. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her name. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park.
