June M. Aschtgen, 95, of Pearl City, IL, passed away November 3, 2022, in her home, surrounded by family. Born August 24, 1927, in Monticello, IA, the daughter of Elmer and Loretta (Costley) Brokaw. Married William “Bill” Aschtgen on February 23, 1946, in Monticello. June was known as a wonderful cook. She showered her family with love through cooking. June loved to cook family dinners, bake pies, and make her famous potato salad. Survivors include her daughters, Kathryn Dorsey and Jane (Rodney) Bowen, all of Rockford, IL, Donna (James) Howard of Pearl City, and Lori (Mike Tezak) Lassard of Duluth, MN; 12 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband; siblings; infant son, Alan Aschtgen; son, William Dale Geordt; grandson, Kenneth Geordt; granddaughter, Cynthia Hillis Howard; great-granddaughter, Raegan Peacock; and great-great-grandson, Bentley Cohee. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, IL. Service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2022, in Kramer Funeral Home, 700 Oak Street, Monticello, IA, with visitation from 12:30 p.m. to service time. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, with dinner to follow. Condolences may be sent to either funeral home prior to services.
