Sally Ann Francis

Sally Ann Francis, 84, of Rockford, IL, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, in her home. Born February 2, 1939, in Calumet, IA, the daughter of Manly Joseph and Mildred Mae (Mehrens) Abrahamson. Graduated from Calumet, IA, High School, Class of 1957. She married Raymond Francis and they resided on multiple military bases before his passing. Sally then married Karl G. Moseman, in Rockford, where she was a Rockford area resident for 52 years. Employed by Erickson & Associates for 10 years, retiring in 2006. In retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Arizona with Karl and enjoying the warm winter and fun times with friends. Member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, LLL Society, New Glory Singing Group, and Elks Club in Sun City, AZ. Avid Cubs fan. Sally loved all Iowa Hawkeye sports. She enjoyed singing at her church and attending her granddaughters, Becca and Mackenzie’s school and sporting events. Sally also enjoyed attending shows at Starlight, taking pride in seeing her granddaughter, Becca, on stage. Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Carol) Francis of Winnebago, IL, Joe (Carol) Francis, and Jamie Francis, both of Rockford; grandchildren, Will Francis, Mitch (Rosa) Francis, both of Rockford, Ellen Francis of Roscoe, IL, Becca Francis of Winnebago, IL, and Mackenzie Francis of Orlando, FL; great-granddaughter, Sophia Francis of Rockford; sister, Nancy (Gerald) Sears of Cherokee, IA; brother, Tom (Julee) Abrahamson of Cherokee, IA; many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Iowa. Predeceased by her parents and both husbands, Raymond Francis and Karl Moseman.

Memorial service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, 5403 North 2nd Street, Loves Park, IL, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, 401 River Lane, Loves Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
