Thomas “Tom” Joseph Brown, 56, of Rockford, IL, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, in his home. Born January 23, 1966, in Elgin, IL, the son of John R. and Joan M. (Burkart) Brown. Married Danae Blake. Employed by Syncreon in Belvidere, IL, for many years and worked on a horse farm at Southern Cross Stables. Attended Cathedral of St. Peter. Tom loved animals, his time working on the horse farm, fishing, hiking, horse camping, playing guitar, roller skating, and going to movies. He especially loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Danae Brown; children, Rachael (Nick) Homerding, Jeremy Brown, Tyler (Millie) Brown, Kaitlyn Brown, Elizabeth Kuhn, and Sarah Kuhn; grandchildren, Jeremiah, Olivia, Kyla, Isaiah, Riley, Ashlyn, and Layla; his mother, Joan Brown; siblings, Larry (Nancie) Brown and Kathy Brown Parks; nieces and nephews, Katherine “Katie Rose” (Drew) Pardee, John (Kelsey) Brown, Colleen Brown, Elizabeth (Tyson) Remery, Carol Parks, Jerry (Jazell) Parks, Victoria (Tyler) Kurtz, and Brian Parks; and his horse, Razz. Predeceased by his father, John Brown; brother, Daniel J. Brown; and canine companions, Moosie, Rocky II, and Katie.
Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022, in Cathedral of St. Peter, 1243 North Church Street, Rockford, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. to service time. Cremation rites accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements by Delehanty Funeral Home, Loves Park, IL.
