Obituary for Virginia Laudicina

Virginia C. Laudicina, 86, of Rockford went to be with the Lord Monday, April 4, 2022, in SwedishAmerican Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.  Born December 9, 1935, in Rockford, the daughter of Anthony and Carmella (Musso) Barcellona.  Married Vincent Laudicina on October 11, 1956, in Marsala, Sicily.  Co-owned and operated Ciccio’s Pizza in Elburn for 27 years, retiring in 2003.  Member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.  Her greatest love was her family, and she would call everyone daily.  She enjoyed cooking, especially for the holidays.  Virginia was an avid reader, loved crocheting, and enjoyed her kindle.  Survivors include her children, Anna Marie Ashcraft of Rockford, Carmella (Larry) Kane of Beloit, WI, Frank (Terrie) Laudicina of DeKalb, Anthony Laudicina of Rockford, and Linda (Dana) Schnabel of Elgin; grandchildren, Kimberly (J.R.) Schmidt, Jennifer Kane, Vincent (Riley) Laudicina, Joseph Laudicina, Matthew Laudicina, Toni Heniff, Nikko Laudicina, Alexis Laudicina, Mia Schnabel and Andrew Schnabel; great-grandchildren, Mickaila (Adam) Laube, Victoria Schmidt, Olivia Schmidt, Maddie Schmidt, Brooklynn Schmidt, Jorien Reynolds, and Natalie Samuel; great-great-grandchildren, Giovanni, Haven, Gabriel, and Frankie; brothers, Anthony (Peggy) Barcellona, and Dominic (Sandy) Barcellona; numerous nieces and nephews; loving fur babies, Samson and Diliah.  Predeceased by her husband, Vincent; son-in-law, Ronald Ashcraft; sisters, Dorothy and Lena; and brother, Phil.

Visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022, in Delehanty Funeral Home, Ltd., 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with funeral service at 6 p.m.  Cremation rites accorded.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
